i have found that canadian idoms was a little bit different between American and Canadian. for example, i said stuff which means things. but my english instructor couldn't understand. however, i saw many movies i can find a lot of "stuff" in those movies. of course, i saw many US movies. so that is a one case that shown different cultul have different idoms.

your instuctor must be some kind of weird one or immigration ,cos, every people here use stuff. you are right, just keep using that.  

just like some people do not say i am ill, instead  they wanna say i am sick. they are actually the same thing ,when you listen to local news and you will find out , ordinary people's english is just so plain and oral. something they do not know dosen't mean we are wrong.  just say waht you want , you gonna used to it .  just learn as you go and trying to fix the gap between your english and theirs. we can borrow the way they talk and keep the way that you think is better than theirs.

it seems like every one are busy recently. me too...
